Moa was born and raised in Maun the gateway to the Okavango Delta, Botswana. As a boy at primary and secondary school he was a member of the school wildlife club and was inspired during school trips to national parks and game reserve in Botswana, Zambia & Zimbabwe in the late 80′s and early 90′s. Moa’s love for nature and wildlife was evident.
After finishing school in Zimbabwe where he went to college for 3 years, Moa returned home to Botswana in 1997 and started a career in the hotel and hospitality industry for a couple of years. By 2000 the bush was calling and he was employed by Okavango Wilderness Safaris where he worked in several camps and lodges as a Manager and guide. Moa also led privately guided safaris for the Wilderness Safaris exploration division (overland safaris). While he was managing and guiding in the Jao concession he conducted lion monitoring and also monitored endangered birds of Botswana.
Moa is currently working in the safari industry as a freelance Professional Guide and Guide Trainer/Assessor. He also runs his own travel agency based in Maun.
The remoteness and the beauty of the wildlife areas in Northern Botswana and elsewhere continue to revitalize Moa’s soul and his love for nature. Moa is a keen wildlife photographer and some of his work has been published in Africa Geographic Birds and Birding Magazine. He is also interested in ethnology. Moa enjoys traveling and he has traveled in most of the game reserves and national parks in Botswana, Namibia, Zambia, Zimbabwe and South Africa when on vacation and at work.
